Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
Post Combine
Don't love this decision. Appears to be a called run, but Lance spots a CB playing off and can throw a quick hitter to the WR. Problem is the safety is working outside too, so had a good box count. WR made it work pic.twitter.com/hweZovwcrT

Nice quick processing here by Lance. Motion pre-snap tells him its man coverage. Has TE spotting up with RB working to flat. Knows TE can set a pick on the LB for the RB, so quickly works to the back and gets the ball out early to maximize YAC pic.twitter.com/qGQJ4G3pcI

I like Trey Lance, elite traits and is worth a 1st round pick. But no way am I comparing him to Josh Allen. Lance is more mechanical, his throws do not wow me to the same extent, and he did not have to carry his team like Allen did. Not even close.

Trey Lance had a great pro day today. Looks as if he really improved his motions, which I think will help improve his deep ball accuracy. This is what I wrote about his deep ball last month⬇️ #Draft #BrawlNetwork #NFL pic.twitter.com/sETae8PJSK

Interesting comp from Daniel Jeremiah, says Trey Lance reminds him of Steve McNair.

Love the endzone view of this play.

Watch how Lance's eyes as he progresses through this Y-Cross concept, going from Go to Over before hitting the backside Dig right on the hash (meaning Lance read this play out with perfect timing and rhythm). pic.twitter.com/9uzQwX9fr1
Trey Lance reminds me of Donovan McNabb/Dak Prescott

-He’s as good a deep ball thrower as any QB in this draft
-He’s absolutely fantastic throwing on the run with his mechanics and ball placement
-high high end confidence in his decision making
"Trey Lance got robbed the most by the pandemic b/c I say this not as hyperbole: he would've at least had a chance to make a run at No. 1 pick. It would've been a long shot. That's how talented he is, but he lost his season & lost his private workouts." - @ConnorJRogers, Badlands pic.twitter.com/aQmBYkg2sy

Watching Trey Lance tape. Big, physical kid who can run with power and speed. His arm is good, but he did make a terrible throw that was picked in his one game last year on an awful read. Also had a dime dropped on a sure TD. Intriguing skills.

Love this 3rd down clip from Trey Lance.

Watch his eyes from the end zone angle. He’s peeking the capped Safety pre-snap and then confirms it.
He then gets off it quickly and works to the backside Dig, navigating the pocket and delivering the throw vs. a late blitz. pic.twitter.com/hHCtuBrJAf
- Doesn't feel pressure well at all. Internal clock is off & will have a huge leap playing behind OLs in NFL as opposed to NDSU
— Jayson Braddock (@JaysonBraddock) February 27, 2021
- His deep passes are moon shots that he lofts to an area & hopes his WR takes advantage of a 2-3 yard window that he created in his route
I think Trey Lance has shown the ability to read the field + make the throws on pro route concepts.

And his intangibles (toughness, composure, on the field leadership) are very high-level.
Scheme fit will be important (play to his strengths) as he develops vs. NFL competition. https://t.co/jbnRsJaRy8
