A Mid-Summers Draft

1) Cincinnati Bengals (3-13)

Ed Oliver DT Houston
- In most situations a team with the top pick would normally aim for a new quarterback. However, the Bengals are not a normal team since they are generally content with wallowing in mediocrity. Instead, I feel like they will stick with the "Grey Water Pistol" Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis for at least another season. They do benefit that this draft is loaded with talent along the defensive line that are hands down favorites to be the top prospects taken. One of them being Ed Oliver who would have been a consensus top pick had he been able to enter the draft out of high school. His size, strength, athleticism, leadership, and motor have him in the mold of a Ndamukong Suh combined with Gerald McCoy. The Bengals have two of their top d-linemen up for new contracts in Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap. Even if they do retain Atkins I think a talent like Oliver alongside him could give them one of the best interior pass rushing duos to wreck havoc on the league.

2) Arizona Cardinals (3-13)

Nick Bosa DE Ohio St
- Well, it looks like the younger can have some bragging rights in the Bosa household going one pick sooner than Joey did in 2016. The younger Bosa is every bit as good and talented as his older brother and can bring the same sort of impact that can really elevate a defense. The Cardinals are in a growing period where Bradford will probably start behind a shaky line for as long as he holds up allowing Josh Rosen to deal with those issues. This roster as a whole needs a jolt of new talent to help them compete in the competitive NFC West and a talent like Bosa can help them in that direction. With a combination of Bosa and Chandler Jones can really elevate this defense and cover up their big miss on Robert Nkemdiche who has been a massive disappointment.

3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-13)

Greedy Williams CB LSU
- I think the Bucs should look to upgrade the quarterback spot with Jameis Winston continuing to decline on the field and implode morally off the field just does not have the look of a franchise quarterback. However, he has one more year left on his deal and possibly one more if they pick up his option, but I doubt they do. One more try of the combination of coach Dirk Koetter and Jameis Winston is probably in the plan for another one of the NFL\'s most mediocre franchises. Instead, I think they could look to bolster their defense further by actually finding a lock down corner that they have been missing since Ronde Barber retired. Williams has the inside track as the top corner taken from the defensive back factory down at the bayou of LSU. He has the length, speed, swagger, ball skills, and physicality you want from a corner. The issue is his weight, but more and more teams seem to be unfazed by those issues since corners like Denzel Ward, Eli Apple, and others continue to be taken high in the draft despite being rather slight. Adding Williams should help them compete in the high flying NFC South better and actually give them one of the more well rounded defenses in the league.

4) Buffalo Bills (4-12)

Trey Adams OT Washington
- The Bills currently have the worst offensive line situation in the league that I think will be the biggest cause of their downfall this year. Besides the three way quarterback battle between Josh Allen, A.J. McCarron, and Nate Peterman that has no one excited. Of course, they want Allen to win out, but his issues will only be exacerbated behind a bad o-line. I would rather have McCarron or Peterman take the lumps behind that leaky blocking unit and let Allen work in the shadows until he is ready. Trey Adams should have been a top 10 pick had he not injured his ACL last November. He should be healthy and improve his strength over the course of this season to build with his already solid technique and instincts on the left side. With him in fold kicking Dion Dawkins to right tackle should be the smart move helping them improve both tackle spots with one pick. Next up improving the interior of the line should be looked into the rest of the draft for this squad if they want Josh Allen to succeed.

5) New York Giants (4-12)

Justin Herbert QB Oregon
- Now will the Giants look for Eli Manning\'s heir apparent? Bringing in a new running back will not solve this team\'s issues over night especially the lethargy on defense that ran rampant last season. This o-line is still a work in progress, OBJ\'s best games thus far have come in losses, and they are now moving to a 3-4 front with ill equipped talent. I would prefer if they draft a quarterback here whether it be Herbert, Stidham, Patterson, Thorson, or Lock to sit behind Manning to learn from one of the best professionals in the league. Not with just how to be a better quarterback on the field, but also off the field with teammates and the harsh media in New York. Right now, Herbert is the favorite in the clubhouse with his skills, size, and athletic talent to be the first quarterback taken. However, injuries could derail his chances as the top option, but if he stays healthy and continues to display advance touch on his passes he should be the first qb taken. My main issue with him is his lame name that does not roll off the tongue or exude a top strapping quarterback like others like Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, Jimmy Garoppolo, and others just have great marketing names.

6) Cleveland Browns (5-11)

Raekwon Davis DT Alabama
- Just winning one game would be a win this season for the league\'s worst franchise, but I see this team being talented enough to win at least five games. I would not be surprised if they actually won more with their generally talented roster and Tyrod Taylor who has generally been a consistent winning quarterback throughout his career. With this pick they can go in many directions from another corner to a left tackle to a receiver or a safety. However, I think this draft\'s strength is along the defensive line in particular in the tackle group and landing one of them can really vaunt this young defense. Coupling a talented interior terror like Raekwon Davis with Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi, and Emmanuel Ogbah will give them a very exciting defensive line to watch. Couple that with their talented linebacker core and young secondary an interior pass rush can elevate all of the guys behind him as well. I may be going out on a limb, but I think this team is going to be the cream of the crop in the AFC North in a few seasons.

7) Kansas City Chiefs (5-11)

Clelin Ferrell DE Clemson
- For some reason everyone see Patrick Mahomes as a better quarterback over Mitchell Trubisky, but both are unknowns in my opinion and maybe Mahomes more so since he only played one game. Who knows maybe he can turn into a dumpster fire or their poor drafting could finally come bite them in the butt. I have a gut feeling this is going to be a bottoming out season and maybe even cost Andy Reid his job after only being mediocre for the better part of his tenure with the Chiefs. I do think if they pick this high selecting a new edge rusher will be needed with Justin Houston\'s contract looking like a big albatross thanks to his injury history despite some good flashes. Meanwhile, Dee Ford\'s contract is up nor has he been that great for them over the years. Ferrell would have been a lock top 15 pick had he entered the 2018 draft and he should remain that high a year later and with more experience. He should bring a new youthful jolt on this defense that could give them a stabilizing all around force of nature on the edge.

8) Miami Dolphins (6-10)

Jarrett Stidham QB Auburn
- The Dolphins could have traded up to select a young quarterback in 2018 like the Bills and Jets did to compete moving forward, but they wisely stepped back and decided to fully see what they have in Ryan Tannehill. In my opinion, Tannehill is not a terrible quarterback, but he is not talented enough for me to fully buy into him as a franchise quarterback. If I were running the Dolphins I would take this opportunity to select a young qb to groom possibly behind Tannehill for a season and when Brady retires they have a shot like the Bills or Jets to have the next young quarterback to dominate the division. Stidham could have slipped into the first round in 2018, but smartly remained in school to develop some more in Gus Malzahn\'s system that benefits the quarterback with his wide open scheme. The former Baylor Bear has shown flashes of a talented and explosive arm to go along with impressive speed and open field vision when he takes off. He could give the Dolphins a younger, more refined, and more sturdy version of Tannehill who\'s injuries and being a former receiver in college has never been able to fully develop his skills as a signal caller.

9) Seattle Seahawks (6-10)

Greg Little OT Ole Miss
- I think the Seahawks will take a step back this season, but not due to their lack of talent overall. However, the talent and direction that the Rams and 49ers are taking are just that much better than them to knock them back for a season until they regroup. The Seahawks benefit from having Russell Wilson in the fold, but the roster outside of him needs a jolt of new energy. Not only that, but the team as a whole needs a new voice from the coaching staff down so I would not be surprised if this is Pete Carroll\'s last season with them. One big issue is still their o-line and Duane Brown the oft-injured veteran is a free agent after this season. If I were them I would take this opportunity to draft a new young left tackle to groom. Little is a talented blocker who has the size, athleticism, and talent to groom into a top flight blindside blocker. One that Wilson has never had throughout his career thus far.

10) Detroit Lions (6-10)

Joe Jackson DE Miami
- I have a feeling that Ziggy Ansah is not for long in Detroit. Not only do they normally fail to shell out big money, but they also never really seemed in love with Ansah. His numbers took a dip last season due to the poor cast around him causing him to fight throw double blocks often, but he also never evolved as a pass rusher. I do like the interior of their line with Da\'Shawn Hand in fold and A\'Shawn Robinson becoming better with each season especially in terms of pushing the pocket as a pass rusher. Bringing in a talent like Jackson just makes sense even if they do retain Ansah giving them a talented line from edge to edge to compete in the competitive NFC North. Jackson has really jumped out as a top prospect after a breakout season last year displaying great speed and impressive bend for his length.

11) Oakland Raiders (7-9)

Bryce Love RB Stanford
- I can see them under Jon Gruden to continue to do throwback selections like last year with reaching for a weak right tackle expecting him to be a mauler. Now they can select a slight running back with a lot of grit expecting him to be a bruising bell cow style back. I do not think the duo of Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin are for long in Oakland or Las Vegas for that matter and by next season they may come to conclusion that fixing the running game is what they need to get over the hump. It\'s not they really need to work on this defense, but under Gruden the offense will always be the more bolstered group. Love is a gritty do it all back, but his slight size and lack of elusiveness that makes McCaffrey special is not a top end running back in my opinion. However, in this weak group he is the best option and may be over drafted after another Heisman candidate type season.

12) Denver Broncos (7-9)

Derrick Brown DT Auburn
- The edge rushing duo on this team could be the best in a few seasons between Von Miller and Bradley Chubb, but they are still missing that interior pass rushing presence they had with Malik Jackson during their Super Bowl run. The likes of Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis, and Domata Peko are just not going to get it done. Luckily, for them this defensive tackle draft is deep, talented, and contains about five top selections. Derrick Brown is one of the lesser known players among that group, but his versatility, motor, and size make him a salivating prospect. He is still very young and still very raw in his technique that could have GMs and coaches thinking they can untap a ton of potential out of him. A defensive front of Brown, Chubb, and Miller should really alleviate the youth in their secondary after letting Aqib Talib and others go over the past few seasons.

13) Indianapolis Colts (7-9)

Trayvon Mullen CB Clemson
- I think the Colts are headed in a good direction after last year\'s strong draft and finding a few gems like Quincy Wilson in the draft prior. However, the biggest plus is the possibility of a healthy Andrew Luck behind an actually strong line that could have them return to contention. I think this weak secondary outside of Wilson and Malik Hooker is what will cause them to drag behind and be one step away from being a true contender. Drafting a top corner should be in their future this draft or another pass rusher, but the d-line is a much deeper class than the corners in this class. Mullen is a name that will pop this season behind a strong Clemson line where he can just shine in one on one coverage without much worry about being stuck out in coverage for too long. Some call him an athletic freak and if he flashes that potential he should be a lock first round pick possibly even be a better version of Mike Hughes who was a first rounder off his athletic gifts.

14) New York Jets (7-9)

A.J. Brown WR Ole Miss
- A new receiver for Sam Darnold to grow with is a big need for this team. The likes of Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa, and Jermaine Kearse are not enough to allow Darnold to unlock his potential. Granted, I think he is a good enough quarterback to be able to work with any receiver, but with how young he is right now finding a top option could make his growth jump quicker than without one. Brown is the top option in this class right now with his athletic gifts, routes, hands, and size to be a Julio Jones type receiver. The issue is the quarterbacks throwing him the ball in what looks to be a lost season at Ole Miss could cause his numbers to dip and cause evaluators to shy away from him much like they did with Calvin Ridley. I do think Brown has been on their radar for so long that they know what he can do. A new blocker could also be in their future here, but I would lean towards a play maker for this talent-less offense.

15) Baltimore Ravens (8-8)

Devin White LB LSU
- The Ravens are still in salary cap hell and have Terrell Suggs and C.J. Mosley up for new deals after this season. I would attempt to resign both, but I doubt they make it happen so finding a new linebacker should be in their future. Also, due to their defensive history I feel like they lean that way in the draft more often than not. I would not be shocked if White ends up shooting up into the top 10 of the draft as scouts and talent evaluators are beginning to compare him to Ray Lewis with how fast, instinctive, and violent he is as a linebacker. As quoted by a scout,
"This kid could end up being similar to Ray Lewis. I\'d take White over any of the linebackers this year. He\'s unbelievable. Unless he gets hurt or completely shuts it down to protect himself, he\'ll be the first linebacker drafted next year. He\'s the complete package. Great character. He\'s the signal-caller of the defense with a super football IQ. He\'s big, study, and stout enough for Mike - middle linebacker; swift enough for Will - weakside linebacker -, great athlete and coverage instincts. Stacks up the stat boxes, all of them. He\'s fast, an explosive tackler, and [has] elite reactionary quickness."

16) Washington Redskins (8-8)

Drew Lock QB Missouri
- I think this is the draft where lower selecting teams can stash a first round quarterback for a season or two to groom unlike last year where a lot of analysts thought they would go that route. This draft is talented, but there are some talented quarterbacks in this class that could be franchise options if given time to develop. I doubt the Redskins think they are Super Bowl contenders with Alex Smith and will probably only have him for a season or two before handing the job over to a young option. One of those candidates could be the gunslinger Drew Lock who is this class\' Josh Allen who is a big and strapping athlete at the quarterback position. He has the size, arm strength, and instincts to be a starting quarterback. However, his offense in college and accuracy are an issue. If given time behind Smith he could turn into a solid starter to help them compete in the competitive NFC East.

17) Chicago Bears (9-7)

Brian Burns OLB Florida St
- One big area of weakness for what should be a solid Bears defense is their edge rusher situation. Outside of Leonard Floyd who is a question mark himself, but has the looks of a top option, the depth behind him may be even less reliable. If an injury were to happen they could be in trouble to compete or put consistent pressure on the opposing quarterback. In this year\'s draft, a new edge rusher is probably going to be the pick and they have a nice bunch of options to take here. One could be the young Brian Burns who is a similar long and lanky edge rusher like Floyd and who also needs to pack on some weight to bulk up. He would give them another speed rush option and one that could fit the mold that coach Vic Fangio looks for in his pass rushers. A group of Burns, Roquan Smith, Floyd, and Danny Trevathan should give them a nice young group to lock down the linebacker crew like the olden days in Chicago.

18) Carolina Panthers (9-7)

Zach Allen DE Boston College
- I actually mocked Allen to Carolina a bunch of times before he headed back to college last season due to their need for a new end to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. A grouping with Julius Peppers, Mario Addison, Wes Horton, or whoever they bring in is not enough to have them compete in the highly talented NFC South against the Saints and Falcons. Allen is a bigger throwback type of end who uses his strength and bull rushing power to create havoc on the edge. If he adds more pass rushing moves to his repertoire and a bit more quickness while at Boston College it should only serve to lock him into being a first round prospect in 2019. In my opinion, he is a better prospect than Harold Landry who got a lot of hype as a pass rusher and in terms of the NFL I think Allen is a better fit in the pros with his superior size and strength.

19) Dallas Cowboys (9-7)

Rashan Gary DT Michigan
- This class is very deep and talented at the tackle spot. Had Gary been eligible to be in the 2018 class he easily could have been a top 10 selection. However, he could fall into a team like Dallas\' lap and give them a top option on the interior of their defensive line. They could lose DeMarcus Lawrence this off season and also David Irving who is now suspended the first few games of the season. Bringing in a young and more talented option to help the possible blow of losing those guys can be a good solution giving them two former Wolverines to build around on the defensive line. Heck, with his former proteges down in Dallas Jim Harbaugh may come down and coach in Dallas as well. Gary in my opinion has better potential than Taco Charlton and has the ability to be a rare difference maker in the middle of the defense. He does have a lot of untapped potential in terms of technique, aggressiveness, and motor, but some of that is due to the ways Michigan uses him. If coached up further he could be a steal here.

20) San Francisco 49ers (10-6)

DeAndre Baker CB Georgia
- The Richard Sherman signing can either be a gem in disguise or a complete thud with him continuing to play like a washed up corner. I would lean towards the gem side, but I doubt he will ever be as good as he once was. A young corner to be brought in to really round out this defense could be a great pick up. Unless last year\'s mid round pick Ahkello Witherspoon really finds a spark and solves their corner depth issues. I doubt that happens so a guy like Baker could be in their future. Baker is a bit smaller, but has the same quick twitch and all around ball skills similar to the likes of Denzel Ward. Much like Ward he has a weight issue that can cause him to struggle in press coverage however, his skills are a tantalizing for any coach to have on their roster. He should round out their young defense giving them a young corner to build around along with an impressively talented defensive front and linebacking group.

21) Tennessee Titans (8-8)

Josh Allen OLB Kentucky
- Both Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan are up for new contracts after this season. Both are not that valuable to rush to resign with one being an aging option and the other being an under performer his whole career. They might have gotten a nice steal in the 2nd round in 2018 by picking up Harold Landry to replace one of them, but I am sure with head coach Mike Vrabel being a defensive guy that he wants more than just one talented young edge rusher. The Titans have shown an affinity athletic defenders under this new regime and Josh Allen is a guy teeming with talent. Had he gone pro in 2018 he most likely would have been a first rounder. He has a versatile skill set able to play off ball or on the edge being a good chess piece for Vrabel to develop. Pairing him with Landry and Rashaan Evans from last year can give them a good athletic linebacker corp to build around.

22) Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7)

Shea Patterson QB Michigan
- Like I said prior I think this quarterback class has a lot of stash and develop potential even to use a first round pick on. I know it\'s tough to sit a first round quarterback for a year, but I think it\'s a smart way for good rosters with mediocre quarterbacks to get better long term. Jacksonville has drafted very well over the past few seasons with a roster teeming with young talent stuck behind quality veterans. They have a plan in place to be a long term contender, but a big issue is Blake Bortles being a very limited option at quarterback. I doubt he is there for much longer if he continues to be mediocre. Patterson is a very talented quarterback, but needs some refinement as a passer. Many scouts see him as a bigger version of Johnny Manziel as a player with a big arm. However, at Ole Miss in turmoil he was kind of lost and left to work off his talent more so than actually developing outside of that. Maybe under Jim Harbaugh he can unlock his potential as a pure passer with athletic gifts. I would not be shocked if he stayed another season to continue to develop, but after going through so much change and turmoil I would not be shocked if he went pro quick. In this scenario, he can develop further behind Bortles or push himself into contention as a starter sooner than later.

23) Minnesota Vikings (10-6)

Jonah Williams OL Alabama
- After shelling out a ton of guaranteed cash at Kirk Cousins I am sure they are set to make sure he pans out. With Mike Zimmer they should always have a good defense regardless of the talent on that side of the ball so I would focus all my efforts on advancing this offense. I know, Riley Reiff had a rebirth with the Vikings, but I am not convinced he is going to be a long term left tackle to build around. Nor do they have effective talent at right tackle or at either guard spots that inspire you at the moment. Williams is a veteran and experienced blocker with good technique, strength, and mobility to be an effective blindside blocker. However, much like his former teammate Cam Robinson some worry about his length and athleticism to stay at left tackle. For the Vikings if he was an effective right tackle or guard it would work just as well for them if left tackle is not in his future. This whole draft class should be geared towards helping Cousins to help them be competitive every season.

24) Atlanta Falcons (12-4)

Marvell Tell S USC
- I am not as in love with Keanu Neal as other pundits, but he is their top option in the secondary with his range and thump. Next to him however, is an up in the air competition among five players to win the safety job. To me that is not a solution to their issue in the secondary especially in the high flying NFC South as they try to slow down Cam Newton and Drew Brees. Tell is a tall and lanky corner in the same vein as Malik Hooker who looks to have good range and ball skills to boot. He has the ability to match up with taller and more physical receivers due to his size, which can be key going against the likes of Devin Funchess, Michael Thomas, and Mike Evans in division. Tell does need to flash more physicality in the run game only cracking 43 tackles last season, but with Neal possibly along side him he should not be asked to be in the box as often as the former Gator. Coach Dan Quinn wants a safety tandem like he had in Seattle so why not take a crack finding it by bringing in a talent like Marvell Tell.

25) Houston Texans (10-6)

Michael Deiter OL Wisconsin
- Much like the Seahawks I think the Texans will be selecting the best blocker available at this position in the draft. They desperately need to protect their future in DeShaun Watson who has shown to be brittle already, but if he is healthy he has already shown the spark to be a top notch signal caller. Wisconsin has developed top of the line blockers over the years and Deiter could be the next. The issue is where he will play on the line since his length and feet need work so being a guard might be in his future. Either way that will be a major bonus for the Texans who need help from left to right along the line. If Deiter shows adept at being a top left tackle he should cement his status as a first rounder in this draft.

26) Philadelphia Eagles (10-6)

Montez Sweat OLB/DE Mississippi St
- The Eagles are loaded with talent on their defense, but eventually they will need to pay some of these guys like Jordan Hicks, Brandon Graham, Chris Long, and others down the line. Not to mention their offensive pieces like Wentz and that talented offensive line. Drafting defensive talent can help them reload on that side of the ball as they put more money into the more valuable offensive pieces. Sweat is a talented and versatile talent who can rush the passer standing or with his hand in the dirt. Much like Anthony Barr for Minnesota has and Sweat has the same sort of speed off the edge to be able to move around. The issue is his off field problems where he was already kicked out from Michigan St and had to go to a community college prior. However, on a strong team like Philly I am sure he is a risk worth taking and developing into a star.

27) Los Angeles Chargers (11-5)

Will Grier QB West Virginia
- Phillip RIvers is not a long term option at this point and nor should he be since they have never really gotten over the hump with him thus far. At this point, they need someone long term that can keep them relevant as their in town rivals the Rams look to be ready to stay with Jared Goff in tow. Eventually, Rivers will be gone so they need a guy ready to step in when that occurs, options like Cardale Jones and Geno Smith are not long term options if you are being honest with yourself. Instead, a name that could emerge can be Will Grier as a sneaky late first round pick up if he continues to show maturity while at West Virginia to go along with his always present talent. His arm, athletic ability, and talent overall were never the issue. However, it seems to me that he has gotten it all buttoned up off the field now as well that has correlated to on the field where he looks more mature and ready to play. In a year or two away from West Virginia\'s air raid system he should be ready for the pros to be a franchise guy.

28) Green Bay Packers (12-4)

Dexter Lawrence DE Clemson
- Normally, a talent like Lawrence would be much higher, but this class is loaded with interior line talent and it will be interesting to see who will rise above the rest during the pre draft process. A team like the Packers who are in desperate need for an impact player on defense can have one fall in their laps and right now one is Lawrence who for all his athletic gifts is a tad raw in his technique and overall experience. However, if he continues to demonstrate the type of impact play he showed last year and especially on a big stage like the playoffs he should vault himself into being a top 10 selection. Right now he is a back end first rounder until he proves he was not a flash in the pan. The Packers currently have Muhammad Wilkerson on a one year contract, Clay Matthews is a soon to be free agent, Mike Daniels is an inconsistent player, and they currently have no other pass rusher waiting in the wings to emerge. A guy like Lawrence can give them a Reggie White-esque type player they have been missing for over a decade.

29) Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5)

Damien Harris RB Alabama
- Clearly, Le\'Veon Bell will not be here long term after this season and nor should he be. First off, he is a running back, a special one, but still a running back where they can be found all over the draft. Second, he has a ton of carries already and an injury history where one can exacerbate the other. Third, he has been suspended before and who\'s to say now that he has gotten paid that he will take his foot off the peddle and fall off the wagon. Lastly, they have other more important people to pay the likes of Alejandro Villanueva, David DeCastro, Ramon Foster, and others the next few years that in my opinion are more important than Bell. So, with this pick they select his replacement in Damien Harris who could have slipped into the first round had he entered the draft in 2018. He has a shifty and speedy skill set to him a\'la Doug Martin that makes him a bit of a change up from previous Bama backs. Harris\' skill set has him more than capable to replace Bell moving forward.

30) Los Angeles Rams (12-4)

Christian Wilkins DT Clemson
- The Rams have a short window along the defensive line with both Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh up for new deals after this season. A possible new young option should be brought in even if they retain one of them, I doubt they get both. A guy like Wilkins should be a great pick up here with his very high floor as a player. He does not have the potential like his teammates Clelin Ferrell and Dexter Lawrence, but he has the most experience and steadiest style of play that translates to the NFL. Wilkins is the heart and soul of that defensive line displaying a high motor, great running stuffing ability, and an always advancing pass rushing repertoire. On a team with talent at every level of their defense he should be a good rotational piece to possibly even becoming a centerpiece along side Donald who I expect they resign eventually. A safety could also be in the plans if they let LaMarcus Joyner walk next off season due to a cap crunch.

31) New England Patriots (13-3)

Clayton Thorson QB Northwestern
- I kind of assumed last year they would draft for now over the future since this could be Brady\'s last ride, but I think Belichick stays after that to prove he can still win without Brady. To do that he needs to draft a new quarterback to build around and groom after not coming to an agreement with Jimmy Garoppolo prompting them trading him away to a completely different coast. A guy like Thorson is my favorite quarterback prospect from this class reminding me of Andrew Luck with his high end intelligence, thicker build, gritty style of play, and a rocket of an arm. Some scouts say he is one of the best teammates in the locker room and displays amazing leadership. One issue is his health after getting nicked up last season and his unwillingness to give up on plays. With better pro coaching he should be ready sooner than later and I would not be shocked if he is the best from this class.

32) Green Bay Packers (From the New Orleans Saints (12-4))

Deebo Samuel WR South Carolina
- The Packers need to surround Rodgers with more athletic options on the outside and guys like Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, and others are just not getting it done for them. If not for Rodgers throwing them open they would not be as well known or have as good stats overall that warranted them getting big new contract extensions. If he stays healthy and continues to display explosive play making ability a guy like Deebo Samuel who can be a do it all receiver like Cobb was prior to getting paid. Samuel is even a tad more refined as a play maker than Cobb was coming out of Kentucky thanks to being a heavily used starter since his arrival to South Carolina. The issue is his injury history that seems to derail his season last year. If he looks healthy and explosive he should be an early round selection. The Packers could also continue to shore up their pass rush with their second pick of the first round to help bring youth on that side of the ball.
