Top 5 Observations through 4 NFL games

5.) The Rams are really, really good.

Maybe the more apt headline for this is Offensive play callers are really, really important. Sean McVay has turned Jared Goff into Jared Goffense. The Rams are rolling right now on both sides of the ball, even with the Rams D hurting. Young offensive playcallers are making their mark on the 2018 NFL season, including McVay, DeFillipo, and Nagy.

4.) The future of NFL quarterback is strong... kind of

Has there ever been a more prosperous time of NFL quarterback play than recently? Yet, seemingly every QB still sucks. Quite a conundrum, but explain to me how Mitchell Trubisky can throw 6 touchdowns in a game.. i\'m not mad about it, just saying. Baker Mayfield looks to be Baker Mayreal. Mahomes is balling out along with Watson, Darnold. Offensive success largely depends on offensive playcallers and offensive playcaller continuity, but these guys look like they can succeed moving forward.

3.) The present of NFL quarterbacking is super strong

Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Andy Dalton, Kurt Cousins, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton, etc. This list is much easier to come up with. The mostly-over-30 club has been slinging the piggy this season. Brees, Rivers, Rodgers, Ryan, Dalton, and Cousins all have offensive coordinator continuity or young hotshots calling plays.

2.) Running the ball just does not make sense anymore

Just in time for the Detroit Lions to break their 5 year streak without a 100 yard rusher, the NFL changes past the point of return. I\'m not a person saying the game is soft, but the appropriately made protections for quarterbacks and receivers make short passes the new-age run game. Nyheim Hines and Quincy Enuwa both play different positions, but essentially make the same plays as short swing passes and screens as an extension of the ground attack.

1.) The Lions Stink out loud, again.

Welp that was a nice offseason filled with hope. But after starting 1-3 with the rest of the division strong, Jim Bob Cooter must pull his head out of his cooter to revamp the Lions offensive attack before Cooter gets canned.
