NFL Coaching Carousal Predictions

Austin Vershel

10.) Lions Offensive Coordinator - Adam Gase

The Lions finally let go of Jim Bob Cooter, and while his name is all-state, his play calling is all-lame. Gase was able to be consistently competent and competitive on the offensive side of the ball. Miami made a big mistake letting Gase go, and it would not be a surprise to see him land another head coaching gig.

9.) Vikings Offensive Coordinator- Kevin Stefanski

Much ado has been made over the Minnesota play calling vacancy, but I believe ultimately interim play caller Stefanski will retain his role rather than leave for a head coaching gig. The Vikings were improved since Stefanski took over, but most could and should be attributed to positive regression.

8.) Arizona Cardinals Head Coach - Jim Caldwell

Grandpa Jim is alive against after sitting out this entire season following being fired from the Lions. Caldwell is regarded as a quarterback whisperer, and Arizona would be smart to pair up Rosen with an offensive minded coach.

7.) Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach - Vance Joseph

The Bengals head coaching gig is sneaky one of the most attractive destinations. While their QB situation is in limbo, owner Mike Brown has shown that he is willing to give a coach the leash and resources to succeed. Joseph will get every chance to prove he can be a successful heir to Marvin Lewis throne.

6.) Cleveland Browns Head Coach - Freddie Kitchens

If the kitchen aint broke, dont fix it. Kitchens has revitalized the Browns offense and injected life into the entire Browns franchise. Gregg Williams could also be a choice here, but the important thing for Cleveland is offensive playcaller continuity.

5.) Denver Broncos Head Coach - Mike Shanahan or Gary Kubiak

Classic Elway. Broncos recently fired their young defensive head coach, and look to replace him with an old offensive coach. Elway needs to fix his QB room before he continues to blame his coaching staff. Broncos are one of the worst looking coaching destinations.

4.) Green Bay Packers Head Coach - Joe Philbin

When Aaron Rodgers wanted McCarthy gone, he suggested Philbin to take over in the interim. To repay Rodgers, Philbin will basically let Rodgers run the entire offense. The Packers dont need a new coach, they need a new defense.

3.) Miami Dolphins Head Coach - Dan Campbell

Formerly interim head coach of the Dolphins, now assistant head coach of the Saints, Dan Cambell and his huge biceps could make a return to the sideline for Miami as Miami will be one of the least attractive coaching destinations so they will have to settle for what they can get.

2.) New York Jets Head Coach - Mike McCarthy

After having one of the leagues top offenses this millennium, McCarthy takes his talents to another frigid football city where he will be tasked with developing Sam Darnold.

1.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach - Brian Kelly

It was reported today that Kelly would interview for the Bucs job and everyone can already tell that is how it will happen. The Glazer family is very very very very very "traditional" and is likely looking for their next version of conservative Lovie Smith. After firing 2 coaches in 3 years, the Buccaneers may not be the hot ticket coaching destination they were just one year ago.
