Initial 2019 Draft Class Impressions

Austin Vershel

5.) There are a lot of defensive lineman projected to go high.

This seems odd. The NFL is a copycat league but I doubt any rookie will strengthen his team the way Aaron Donald did for the Rams. Q Williams from Alabama is regarded as a premier talent in this draft class, but the value is just not there for a lot of other players. Auburn DT Brown would be a consensus first DT in any other draft class according to Walter Football, but he just withdrew from the class. I\'m not first-round-impressed with the second tier of defensive lineman. I like Brian Burns as a steal.

4.) Drew Lock? Yikes

I know the QB position is supply vs demand, but really guys? Drew Lock going top 10 overall? Drew Lock to me resembles more of a draft riser such as Tom Savage, Connor Cook, or Nathan Peterman. I do think there is some QB talent in this draft. Claython Thorston might be my guy.

3.) Cardinals are not taking a QB

They drafted Josh Rosen to be their QB, and they hired their new coach to work with Rosen. A trade down is unlikely because the 49ers at 2 would run the draft card up to take Bosa as of now.

2.) No Premier CB... for now?

I do not see a Marshon Lattimore or Denzel Ward in this class so far. Preliminarily, I like Greedy Williams, but doubt he has the speed to rank higher than a Marlon Humphrey. Overall, I predict a disappointing lack of speed for this crop of DBs including the Alabama Saftey Thompson whom got roasted in the National Championship.

1.) I think Dwayne Haskins is the real deal.

Haskins finishes his collegiate career with over 70% completion and an absurd TD to Int ration (you can google it yourself, I\'m lazy.) His win loss was unreal especially considering the turnover and turmoil of staff and players at that program. Haskins has the size and arm strength to pass the sniff test, for now. We\'ll see how he handles himself this draft season. My other blue chip players include Josh Allen Edge Kentucky, Jonah Williams LT Alabama, and Devin White LB LSU
