Desean Jackson (TB) 91% - Tampa Bay’s signing of Jackson was one of the best moves so far this offseason by any team. They needed a big play threat to line up across from Star wide out Mike Evans (#3 ranked WR in 2016) for a young quarterback in Jameis Winston and that’s exactly what they’ll get from DJax. After back to back seasons of slowly being phased out of Washington’s offense even with recording over 1000 yards last year. The 30 year old should become an instant playmaker for the Buccaneers offense for a young team that’s on the rise.
Alshon Jeffery (PHI) 88% - Jeffery was the biggest name on the market for wide receivers and landing with the Eagles might be exactly what the 26 year old needs after posting just over 800 yards each of the last two seasons. Being suspended the first four games last year for violating the NFL drug policy and regularly finding himself on the injury report he is a little bit of a risky head case. Though on the talent side alone he’s a legit top ten receiver when healthy and could easily provide very satisfying fantasy numbers in 2017.
Pierre Garcon (SF) 86% - I’m a big fan of the 49ers signing of the veteran Garcon. He reconnects with Head Coach Kyle Shanahan who was his offensive coordinator in 2013 for the Redskins and Garcon had his best career year catching 113 passes for 1346 yards. Garcon ranked in as the 24th best fantasy receiver last year with just over 200 points and is now playing for an offensive genius in Shanahan it would shock me if he didn’t post similar numbers.
Terrelle Pryor (WAS) 83% - Ultimately it truly depends on if the Redskins can keep quarterback Kirk Cousins in town which I’m sure they will but honestly who knows anymore with their organization. The Pryor signing was a must have after seeing their two best receivers Garcon and Jackson depart from the team this offseason. Pryor is coming off a strong season where he had to deal with the Browns debacle of a quarterback situation and still was an every game starter in fantasy. He has the ability to continue being a top tier player from the position but there’s also the possible chance he was a one year wonder.
Kenny Britt (CLE) 82% - Britt had a productive year in 2016 where he totaled his first career 1000 yard season and five touchdowns to go along with that while playing for the NFL worst offense in the LA Rams. The Browns weren’t much better offensively but it’s safe to say he will once again be the number one receiver for his team and a player that’s used to playing with subpar quarterback play. Expect Britt to stay consistent next year and fall in the range of 125-140 fantasy points as he did in 2016.
Brandon Marshall (NYG) 78% - Marshall is unpredictable from so many standpoints. Pair him up with a prima donna like Odell Beckham could become a ticking time bomb for the whole state of New York. That being said Marshall might still have a little bit left in the tank even after coming off his worst season in 2016 since his rookie year. Keep in mind heading into last season Marshall was fresh off a 1502 yard, 14 touchdown season in 2015. If he can return to his dominant image the Giants could be in store for one of the most dynamic receiving duos in the NFL.
Torrey Smith (PHI) 75% - I might have Smith’s grade a few percentages to high being a Ravens fan and all but I really think Smiths dark days are over now that he’s back on the east coast. He’s an electric player in the right schemes and I think Philly’s a great place for him to start a new chapter. The Eagles needed to find talent for Carson Wentz and bringing in Jeffrey’s and Smith where perfect additions. Fantasy related I believe Smith gets back on the radar in 2017, nothing mind blowing just a solid rebound year something along the lines of 700 plus yards and a handful of touchdowns. And a great plug in player off the bench when needed.
Cordarrelle Patterson (OAK) - Patterson is hard to rely on in fantasy since he has never quite lived up to his first round status as a wide receiver since he’s been mediocre at best from the position. Positive side is he’s now playing for Oakland who has a fantastic air attack and Patterson definitely could fit in well and become a deadly weapon there. He’s still only 26 years old and the potential is there for him to have a breakout season if he earns the trust from quarterback Derek Carr. So keep an eye on him as a 2017 sleeper.
Marquise Goodwin (SF) – Goodwin is the definition of a world class athlete since he won the silver medal in the long jump at the Pan American games in 2015. And just told multiple reporters earlier this week that he believes he’s the fastest player in the NFL. None of that really matters to fantasy football just some fun facts. 2016 was his best season as a pro recording 29 receptions for 431 yards and three touchdowns for the Bills. Now he finds a new home in San Francisco with head coach Kyle Shanahan controlling the offense who just led the Falcons to the Super Bowl with one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history. Toss him some freak athletic talent like Goodwin to work with in his first year could be fun to watch.
