Opening line: Bengals, -3 points
Pick: Bengals -3
The Texans always lose in primetime games (and recently, don't fare much better in normal games). Bengals look to rebound after an embarrassing divisional loss. I imagine this will be a slow, painful game where the offenses both dissapoint.
Opening line: Raiders, -14 points
Pick: Raiders -14
The Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders return to California for their home opener against the lowly Jets, who are already thinking about 2018. Raiders follow up their big win against a conference rival with a big win against... well, against another team in their conference.
Ravens, -7.5 points
Pick: Ravens -7.5
The Ravens are fresh off of an impressive divisional win against the rival Bengals. The Bengals have often been the better Ohio team compared to the Browns, but every night has it's dawn. I don't expect the Browns to win in Baltimore, but 7.5 points seems high for a battle of two incompetent offenses. That being said, this is Baltimore's home opener against a team who historically has been miserable in Baltimore.
Opening line: Cardinals, -7.5 points
Pick: Cardinals -7.5
The Colts with Scott Tolzien / Jacoby Briskett at quarterback is a 2 headed monster of one of the bottom 3 rosters in the NFL. Can anybody say the Tolzein led Colts are more talented than the Jets? It's a toss up. Arizona rebounds after a tough loss to THE Detroit Lions.
Opening line: Patriots, -4.5 points
Pick: Patriots -4.5
In a battle between the 2 worst teams in the NFL in terms of W/L, the Patriots hold a significant advantage. Tom Brady doesn't lose back to back games, and the Patriots have strengths at the places the Saints have their biggest weaknesses. New Orleans made Sam Bradford look like Tom Brady, so imagine what they'll make Tom Brady look like.
Opening line: Steelers, -7 points
Pick: Steelers -7
I would have guessed that the line would be a lot closer following the Vikings big win over the Saints. That being said, I'm still fading the Vikings as I think week 1 was a fluke and Bradford is unlikely to continue to play at that level consistently.
Opening line: Chargers, -4 points
Pick: Dolphins +4
Nobody has any idea what the Dolphins will do this year with Jay Cutler under center. There is a certain excitement with that defense, and the offense has the pieces to be great. I'll never understand how the Chargers get such favorable lines, but I will continue to fade them until Vegas catches up.
Opening line: Titans, -1 point
Pick: Titans -1
These are the same Jaguars that are being led by Blake Bortles. Now without their most dangerous receiver, I expect the Jaguars to regress to their mean of being terrible. Titans, on the other hand, are actually good!
Opening line: Chiefs, -4 points
Pick: Chiefs -4
Andy Reid revenge game. After the Chiefs spoiled the Patriots Super Bowl party, look for them to continue their dominant stretch of football at home against the Eagles who beat a lowly Washington team.
Opening line: Buccaneers, -6 points
Pick: Buccaneers -6
I see the Bears regressing, as long as Glennon is under center. There is some appeal for a Mike Glennon revenge game, but overall I think the Bucs will win by atleast a touchdown. I would fade this entire game.
Opening line: Rams, -2.5 points
Pick: Redskins +2.5
So the Rams beat the worst team in the NFL, then the next week they're 3 point favorites against a playoff contender? I don't buy it. Look for Jared Goof to regress in week 2.
Opening line: Cowboys, -2.5 points
Pick: Broncos +2.5
I'm fading this entire game. I give the Broncos the edge because the game is at Mile High, but this should be a great, close game.
Opening line: Seahawks, -12.5 points
Pick: Seahawks -12.5
Seahawks home opener against their division rival after a loss. Seahawks are far and away the more talented team, however I would have pegged this line to be closer to 10. I'm siding with the Hawks here, but will probably fade this game as 49ers have some upset appeal.
Opening line: Falcons, -2.5 points
Pick: Falcons -2.5
Another game to fade. There is some appeal for both teams, but I will side with the home team in a high scoring, close game.
Opening line: Giants, -5 points
Pick: Lions +5
With 4 touchdowns in week 1, Matt Stafford is on pace for 64 tds this season leading the best offense of all time. How can the Giants expect to compete with that? For real, though, even if the Giants win, I doubt it is by more than a field goal.
