A new mock draft and big board have been posted to reflect the outcome of the 2016 NFL scouting combine.
Derrick Henry. Henry ran a blazing 4.5 second 40 yard dash at a hefty 247 lbs. He continued his explosive outing by jumping 37 inches in the vertical jump and 130 inches in the broad jump.
Connor Cook. Cook's 40 time wasn't all that impressive, but he displayed comfort and accuracy in the passing drills. He will go first round.
Laquon Treadwell. Treadwell was lauded for opting not to run his 40 at the combine. So how is he a winner? It was an extremely unimpressive, slow showing from the other WR's which will make Treadwell's eventual slow 40 time less of an issue. He has a firm grasp on the #1 wide receiver spot.
Jason Spriggs. Spriggs really put himself on the map by displaying his incredible athleticism at the combine. He has leaped Taylor Decker and Jack Conklin (#3, #4 OT respectively) and established himself as a clear first round pick.
Mackensie Alexander. Alexander had a dominant showing and even better interviews. He has established himself as the clear #1 corner in this class and has the potential of a lockdown corner.
Braxton Miller. Miller was expected to run in the low 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash but finished officially over 4.5 seconds. He had a great showing in the 60 yard shuttle, but was overshadowed by the performances of Treadwell and rising WR Josh Doctson.
Myles Jack and Jaylon Smith. Both players are returning from sever knee injuries. Jack seems to be progressing, but teams have concerns over his medical history. Scouts fear that Smith has significant ligament damage a la Marcus Lattimore. There is talk of him falling out of the draft completely due to failed physicals. Both players are facing big drops in their draft status.
All tight ends. Nobody stood out during the tight end drills. They were routinely slower than expected and didn't possess great route running in the passing drills. Hunter Henry will turn out to be a very good tight end, but athletically nobody is going to wow you in this group.
