Well we blew it. And honestly, is anybody even surprised anymore? The Lions held a 20-0 halftime lead against the Packers last Thursday. Detroit was up 23-21 with under a minute remaining which forced Aaron Rodgers into a 65 yard Hail Mary situation which he, of course, completed to his wide open tight end in the endzone. I suppose it's my own fault that I feel this way. Once again, I convinced myself that the Lions were playoff bound(with a 4-7 record before the game). I was so confident that the Lions would win, and probably win-out, that it was only right to be let down in typical Lions fashion. I'm like Charlie Brown when Lucy keeps pulling the football out from under him when he is trying to kick it. Utterly pathetic. Some quick hitters: 1. Darius Slay might just be the best corner in the NFL. He has allowed only FIFTEEN receiving yards over his last three games. 2. Stafford is a top 10 quarterback this year. No arguments there. 3. Caldwell needs to go. We have had a nice stretch of games here recently but the ending of this game was a microcosm of his career in Detroit: conservative and dumb.
